Winter solstice❄
Posted by KAWASHITASOICHIRO on
21th Dec 2021 is the winter solstice and the shortest daytime day. Therefore the daytime will gradually get longer from the following day.
It’s said that fortune rises at the same time as the daytime gets longer in Japan and eating foods which have “ん”(it’s pronounced [N]) in their names bring fortune.
Foods with "ん[N]" are, for example, udon noodle(u-do-n), carrot(ni-n-ji-n), Japanese radish(da-i-ko-n), and lotus root(re-n-ko-n).
Sake is “ni-ho-n-syu” in Japanese, therefore some people drink it to bring their fortune.
Why don’t you drink sake at the winter solstice for your fortune?
