KAMENOYO Futsu-shu KARAKUCHI 720ml
亀の世 普通酒 辛口
Gold Award at the 2016 / 2018 / 2022 Atsukan (warmed sake) contest in Japan
Futsu-shu means ‘normal sake’ which doesn’t qualify for Tokutei Meisho shu (Premium sake). It’s an equivalent to ‘table wine’ in the wine world. Karakuchi means dry taste.
Sake production generally follows a method of three-step brewing, in which rice koji, steamed rice and water are added three times. Kamenoyo Karakuchi uses four-step brewing to enhances its umami.
【Sommelier's recommendation】
KAMENOYO Futsushu Karakuchi has vegetables aroma like napa cabbage, rich umami from rice and slight nuts aroma. Dry and soft flavour, the bitterness is nicely strong and goes quite mild when it's warmed. Try to put it on vanilla ice cream as sake affogato, as it was very popular at the tasting!
Aroma is like distilled spirits and the flavor is dry but mild on your tongue. Love warmed one as the bitterness goes away and aroma becomes richer.
